This is a restroom or toilet facility for students and staff in one of the 5 schools that might be beneficiary to your donations.
Road Construction
For a long time, our school remained inaccessible by road. Parents and students meandered their way through town. Vehicles could not reach the school. People parked far away and then completed their visit to the school on foot. Thanks to your generosity, we have been able to have a road constructed to allow vehicles to drive right up to the schools
Bush Burning...what???
As the saying goes, “you cannot make omelette without first breaking an egg. In order to develop a farm or produce charcoal, one has to sacrifice flora and fauna. Much as I am not in favor of destroying tour oxygen-producing valuables, we needed to provides bags of charcoal to sell to raise some money. Perhaps with your donation, we can put an end to this practice. We were able to produce 17 bags of charcoals from the cutting down of logs , scoop soils and leaves etc.,
During vacation, everyone vacates the school, so Mother Nature takes over. When school reopens, we do self-help as there is no money for lawnmowers, etc. With some funds, we could purchase week killers (herbicides) and snake and rodent repellants for the safety of all students.
Basic Gallery
Wood for the Classroom
Because the price of wood is expensive and sold in the big cities (far from our village), we bought a whole tree, cut it down, and hired a chainsaw operator to put them into what you see. These planks were used to resurrect some of our crumbling classrooms.
CULTURAL TROUPE A
Each of the 5 schools has its own cultural presentation based on Christian, Muslim or Traditional Orientation.
Typical Classroom
We could replace the black with a whiteboard. The naked electric wires could provide added safety to students.
Structural Reinforcement
Most of the classrooms with shaky walls need immediate reinforcement.
The school Market
The market where students line up for nutrition. After school, the entire market is open to the elements. With a little help, we can have it walled and gated for safety.
OUR DAY: DAY TO CELEBRATE
Before heading for vacation, students and staff select the last day to have some merriment. The school gets together to create a successful term with food and drinks interspersed with cultural singing and dancing.
ACCEPTABLE ATTIRE AT ABA
American Beacon Academy (ABA) has a new school uniform color as displayed here. Here are 2 thumbs for our future champions.
The picture speaks volumes: this piece needs a complete overhaul.
Anticipating future expansion, we purchased this piece of real estate, waiting to be transformed into building additional blocks of classrooms as the student population increases.
Some painting, a door, and some weeding might help.
Several classroom walls used to be like this. We continue to engage in various facelifts and repairs necessary to make a school on the brink of collapse habitable.
Upon taking over this school, we started transforming things and, have successfully cemented the classrooms, improved furniture, and reinforced some of the structures.
