About Our Nonprofit
MWAHEO is a Washington-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that focuses on education, healthcare, and agricultural development in Ghana. Our flagship project is American Beacon Academy (ABA), the first American international school in that part of the central region of Ghana. Founded by Chief Labi, with foundational leadership by some students and staff from Seattle’s Garfield High School. Our goal, among other things, is to empower children our youth with education and vocational training to break the cycle of poverty.
Our Mission:
To provide quality education and vocational training to young students in Ghana, creating lasting opportunities for them to thrive and be competitive in an ever-changing world. Our project outline aims to uplift local communities by tackling poverty and improving access to essential services by stressing the importance of early exposure to early career and vocational education. We believe in teaching them young and training them in activities they are already growing and familiar with.
Key Initiatives:
- Fortifying our School: We’re resuscitating the crumbled school and making it safe for children. Eventually constructing educational facilities that are accessible to local communities, such as the American Beacon Academy in Ghana.
- Medical Support: Soliciting for medical equipment and support for our ever-increasing school population. This will help to provide healthcare to underprivileged communities.
- Vocational Training: We plan to expose our students to all the advantages associated with life-changing skills, ranging from technical training to entrepreneurship.
- Agricultural Development: With a focus on sustainable farming, we help empower local farmers and improve food security.
