Micro-World Agricultural, Health & Educational Organization (MWAHEO)

We believe in teaching them young. Humans learn better when taught and directly exposed to life's experiences. We are amplifying the idea that vocational (career) education (certificate) is far more helpful than a paper diploma, especially in the face of wanton unemployment in most African countries. There is no greater joy than to see the curiosity in a child's eyes when introduced to something he/she is familiar with, primarily if hands-on. At American Beacon Academy (ABA), children from Creche Kindergarten through Junior High School Level III will select one career of interest from fish, poultry, maize, cassava farming, cocoa processing, animal husbandry, search engine optimization, multimedia, and mining (gold, diamond, etc.), driving, buying and selling, hairdressing, sewing, masonry, carpentry, and fitting and auto-mechanics.

WHO WE ARE

We are a Washington State-based Federal Section 501C3 Nonprofit Corporation, with our main beneficiary being a school we have bought in Ghana. Our school is the only American international private school located in that part of the central region of Ghana, inspired by some of our Seattle high school students who visited Ghana with me. Many thanks to Garfield High School Global Technology Academy (GTA), and our ebullient leader, Mr. Kjell Rye.  Welcome to American Beacon Academy (ABA), located in the central region of Ghana.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to provide quality education and vocational training to young students in Ghana, empowering them to break the cycle of poverty and reach their full potential even at a much earlier age.

Gratitude to American Students

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the American students who followed their counselor to Ghana. Your support and involvement have significantly impacted our school and community. The brave, generous, selfless, bold, visionaries...need I say more?

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We believe in “TEACH THEM YOUNG.” We value vocational education over traditional diplomas. Young kids need exposure to careers and vocations of interest to them, which they grow up knowing and familiar with. If kids can learn biking and swimming at a tender age, why does the same wisdom apply to careers?

OUR UNIQUENESS

As an American, international, private school, we offer a unique academic and vocational education blend of mathematics, science, history, and English, along with a choice of one specialized vocational course that follows the child all the way to college.

Visual Proof of Impact

History and narratives are nothing without proof. A room should be left for a lot of pictures and some videos to lend credence to beneficiaries of the program as well as demonstrate to donors and grantors that their gifts are making meaningful changes.
